If you’ve been watching the Olympics, you’ve can’t fail to have noticed the importance that coaching has upon the performance of the athletes. And today it’s no different in business.
As Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel columnist Tannette Johnson-Elie observes, corporate leaders have relied upon coaches for a long time, and now the trend is making it’s way into the entrepreneurial ranks:
Coaching can also benefit small-business owners who may lack the comprehensive business knowledge to run their businesses profitably and maintain their sanity in the process.
(You can read the rest of Tannette’s column here.)
Whether you and your business are stuck, in trouble, or just not growing as fast as you’d like, there are many ways a coach can help you get to the next level faster, including:
- Helping you run your business more efficiently, with basic business skills instruction
- Showing you how to proceed more confidently, with a strategic plan that makes sense
- Opening doors, by showing you how to network more efficiently
- Making sure you’re doing what you should be doing, with the accountability that only a coach can provide
- Guiding you through the rough times, with the knowledge and expertise that a seasoned coach delivers
It just makes sense for a lot of small-business owners, as business has become more complex and at times overwhelming, to have someone who can help you see your blind spots — and thus help you succeed that much faster.
Do you have any stories of how a coach or mentor has made a positive difference for your business?
