But I think there is alot that is missing too. I just attended an event that went into great detail on the importance of being prepared to pay the price that corresponds to the goal you seeking. The speaker was very profound in his approach to goal setting. There was a lot of material that he shared that I had not heard elsewhere before. His name was Douglas Vermeeren. One of the things I really liked about this seminar that might be very worthwhile adding to this article was also his views on finding clarity. That finding the reason "why" you wanted something was the most powerful things you could find. It often could even change the actual goal if we discovered that what we really wanted was something different. I also thought it was interesting when he stated a lot of "the ways how will not appear until you have the reasons why." I was really impressed by how practical and applicable these thoughts were. Of course, there was a lot more that I thought was way beyond what I have heard before. But I don't want to write a novel here. If you will have to do the research. Too often I think goal setting techniques are taught in terms too general and it's the same old stuff that always appears. Everyone is different and the old formulas only work for a select group that innately understands the principles that are missing. I have come to understand from my own life experience that real life requires real solutions and not just motivational fluff. HAving said that these suggestions in this article are great suggestions but you need to have several things in place before you can really make them effective.

Great article on Goal setting.
